H Mulready Stone c1880 - post 1936. Exhibited his first etching in 1905. Lived in London and later in Devon and was heavily influenced by Whistler, sharing his interest in shops and doorways as motifs as well as the frontal viewpoint. In 1920 he exhibited 50 etchings at the Fine Art Society and also exhibited occassionally at the Royal Academy. Active until at least 1936. I can find no record of his birth/death dates nor of his first name in the art references - although there is a Harold Mulready Stone living in Devon in the 1911 cenus aged 32 (born 1879).

Etching on cream laid paper signed in pencil to the margin. Plate is 5½ by 8 inches (135mm by 200mm) on a sheet that is 6¼ inches by 9 inches. In lovely condition, no faults.
